Very handy: A visual guide to portion control

The day I learned that my “two tablespoon” gob of peanut butter habit was more like four was like the day I learned my father was Santa Claus. Brutal. For me, the key to weight loss came from learning how to dial back the amount of food I consumed. The trick really is to understand the amount of food and the calorie counts that food contains.

Realistically, you won’t have a food scale with you when you visit a restaurant, so I think this infographic from Guard Your Health is key. It provides a visual guide to food portion control, using our hand—fingertips, open palms, closed fists and all.
